Eyes in the Skies

Diaries of a Blackhawk Pilot

Christopher Howell

Many know him as an active UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter pilot and MEDEVAC Commander for the U.S. Army, but what more people don’t know is that Christopher uses his camera to immortalize the emotions and experiences he has from the air.
Christopher's military journey, which began right out of high school, holds an influential presence in his life and artistic journey. His aerial photographs serve as visual narratives, connecting his friends and family to his life in the sky, a part he passionately loves but couldn’t physically share.
Rooted in humble beginnings, Christopher's earliest art memory involves holding a disposable camera gifted by his father, sparking the creative flame within him. Even then, he instinctively framed shots in his own unique style that has grown into his current connection with visual storytelling.
As a family man, Commander, and Artist, Christopher's life brims with responsibilities, and yet, he remains fueled by the sense of fulfillment that comes from serving his communities. His selflessness drives his art and every aspect of his life, creating a profound connection between his creative endeavors and the world around him.
